Whole again

Fill the water
Watch it rise

Feel the steam touch and
Kiss and stroke
Let the heat cleanse and
Heal and soothe

Liquid home, home
The quiet is balm
To soul-wounds,
To cracked heartbeats

Is it the water
Or is it me
That rebuilds, forges,
Makes wrongs right again

Or is it the marriage
Of the two that embraces
The broken things, only to
Release them whole again

Or is it neither
Maybe there is nothing
In the water
And nothing in me

Maybe the healing comes
From submersion,
Momentary loss of air
Subtle loss of self

Regardless,
I am whole again

Fill the water
Watch it rise
