Home

I know my way home now
For I’ve been there before.
There are many ways to get there
But until now, I wasn’t sure

Which to take–for how
Does one know which is best?
Is it felt in the soles of one’s feet?
Does it make one’s heart feel at rest?

My journey has been rocky, filled
With bumps and hills and stops,
But once I walked through the lowest valley,
I found strength to reach the top.

At the peak, the penultimate breath–
A view unobstructed, honest, clear.
I felt deep in my bones that
All I’ve done has led me here.

I know my way home now,
When I didn’t before.
It took multiple tries to get there,
But once I saw it, I was sure.
